The most appealing aspect of working in a cruise ship is that there is a wide variety of jobs; it is a sort of very modern moving hotel. In a cruise ship there are multiple work positions and areas, thus it is not an exclusive sector or industry: it accepts both qualified and unqualified personnel.

Thirdly, people who want better job positions in a cruise ship need experience, not necessarily in cruise ships, but definitely in tourism and hotels, or the corresponding sector; for instance: cooking, photograph, casinos, sales, customer service, among others.
Fourthly, candidates must be healthy people; thus they must pass a medical examination and the results must indicate that they are able to work in a ship. For instance, people who have vertigo cannot work in a cruise ship.
The fifth requisite is to have their documents in order, like a valid passport with at least six months before expiration date. In some cases, a C1-D visa is needed if the cruise ship will arrive into a port inside the United States. This is a visa for cruise ship crew members.
Lastly, we must mention other important requirements to demonstrate applicants are suitable to work in a cruise ship and serve demanding clients with different habits. These requirements refer to social and team work abilities. Workers will share cabins and bathrooms, as well as anecdotes with people from different countries. Thus, they must be nice and kind people, as the last thing a cruise ship company wants is conflicts among its workers.
Also, workers must have interpersonal skills, be friendly, respectful and willing to fulfill all their clients’ needs. But above all this, they must be prepared to work and work, as they will have no days off, nor eight hour days.
Most cruise ship workers must work at least 12 hours a day.
